Toni in Africa

Hello!  I am Toni Sheets and will be leaving my beautiful boys and great husband behind when we leave Saturday for Africa.  I feel incredibly lucky that my husband has been supportive of this trip knowing that he will be home with two little men who are a handful @ ages 3 & 7.  He is going to take them camping and is taking volunteers for the other days!  :-)  This will be my first trip to Africa and I can only imagine how this will change my vision of the world and humankind.  Bethany Butcher and I worked together for a couple of years and she is the reason that I got involved with the Mercy Care Centre.  I will also have a blog at Toniinafrica.  Keep us in your thoughts and prayers (& my husband too!  :-)

After Bethany told me about the Mercy Care Centre several years ago, we were so moved by the work that was being done there, I brought it up to our vacation bible school volunteers to see if we could collect an offering for the mission work being done there.  We have done that for the past 3 years.  Bethany, her mom and Megan all came to speak and the children were most moved by the lack of food and having to share pencils.  To think in such a short time, so many people have contributed to this wonderful cause and unbelievable things are happening.  I can't wait to get there and see first hand how the support from the foundation has made a difference in this little part of the world.
