Bryan and Rosetta have prepared a great lunch for those of us who have gathered for the flights in the morning.
We will be at the airport to fly out on Ethiopian Air at 6AM. Our first leg of the journey takes us to Rome, but we will not be allowed off the plane. Once a new crew has boarded, we will fly on to Ethiopia and then on to Kenya. It will take about 17 1/2 hours if there are no problems with the flight.
We started our malaria medications today. Helen and Joy managed to purchase new hair to take with them to Kenya (Joy now has a pony tail!) We stopped at a book store and John and Ray got some new (new to them anyway) books.
Joy will be teaching music, John will be teaching Bible, Ray will be in construction and Helen will be organizing teams.
Our friend Patrick has gotten word that he now has a visa so he will be able to come to the USA soon! This is great news for the Mercy Care Centre,
Kara and Andrew are also trying to get visas in Baltimore today for their move to Cambridge in September. We hope they are successful.
Tonight we are going to see a show at the Kennedy Center performed by seven folks with disabilities about "Folks with Disabilities."
Yesterday our friends at the Mission had a special time of prayer for us...praying that we had travel mercies, that we were able to be of some help and most of all that we "do no harm" while visiting our friends in Kenya.
Thanks for holding all of us (there are 21 of us) in your prayers.

Hey Mercy Care Centre Summer 08 Volunteers. We have been praying for you ALL DAY TODAY AND YESTERDAY. We pray that you have had a safe trip. Sarah went to Finland yesterday from Krakow, Poland and made the trip safely so yesterday was a Praying for Safety Day at the Greene's house.
Keep us posted. We pray that ALL WILL GO WELL. Give Patrick, the teachers and the children, our love.

I was praying for your yesterday morning, as you were arriving at the airport. I hope that all is going smoothly with the loong flight. Of course, we will be praying for all 21 of you in our worship service this morning. (And for your backs as you carry all those suitcases:)
I spoke with Tracy yesterday and they are on their return trip from Port Sulphur. It was hard work that made a visible difference, and a good time of growth and bonding.
Love,
Steve and Your Peakland Family
Hopefully, you all have arrived safely at the Methodist Guest House. That place won't be the same with all of you there! My heart, head and prayers have been only with you all day long. Please give Patrick, the teachers and children "PP's" love!!!!! May God bless each of you throughout your journey to absorb all that you see, hear and feel. The gifts that you receive from Mercy Care will surely be with you all the days of your lives. Hugs to you all! Carroll, THANK YOU for the gifts that you left at the church for me and my family! I love you!
