Day 10

I feel lucky to be alive. Today Bethany, Megan, and Toni and I went up to the mountains of Lake Navasha to visit Esther’s family. We had a great visit and meal, but it started raining so we left quickly because the road was so bad. We got to the bottom of the mountain and Ester’s sister called to say I had left my passport and cash. SO I finally persuaded the driver to return. We slid all the way up and down. Several times I was so scared, but kept praying and made it back. Thanks for your prayers…I certainly needed them today.

Wow, Carroll, an adventure!!! Of course, to my way of thinking, riding on ALL the roads last year was an adventure-some moreso than others. Have fun! Freddie is anxiously awaiting your vist per his email. Please read your personal email for info on the baby's birth, etc. Love you, Judie

Carroll: We are grateful that you folks made it back safely. We remember so clearly when we lived in Tanzania, how slippery those roads can be in the rainy seasons.

So grateful also you got your passport and made the visit.

When you see Frieddie, give he and his wife, our best wishes. I wish we could have been more productive in locating his mother. Let him know we will continue to pray for he and his family.

Love to all,
Beth and Family in NC

P.S. Lydia is getting so excited as she plans her trip to Florida

Dear Carroll,

I smile to see the happy photo of your family and Esther's family, and I breathe a sigh of relief to know that y'all arrived safely back home despite the rain and dangerous roads.

I remember praying for the peace of Kenya earlier this year, for the country seemed on the brink of a civil war. Now it seems that it is safe to travel the countryside, apart from the hazards that Mother Nature presents.

Part of my daily prayer is "Day by day, may the Lord sustain you with his peace and make you instruments of his peace."
